Authentic French Louis Philippe commode, mid-19th century (circa 1840–1860). Its defining characteristics include the clean, understated lines of the Louis Philippe style, characterized by a rounded top drawer (often called a “doucine”) and simple, sturdy bracket feet.
The piece features highly decorative burr walnut (or figured walnut) veneers, arranged in a symmetrical “book-matched” pattern to showcase the natural wood grain.
Topped with an original grey or black marble surface. It typically contains four or five drawers, including the shallow, shaped top drawer.
